One of the longest toboggan runs in the Chiemgau region!
From the Margarita guesthouse it takes about 30 minutes by car to reach Sachrang.
First, the ascent begins on foot: From the large Geigelstein hiking parking lot in Sachrang, the trail leads up to the Priener Hütte (Prien Hut) in about two and a half hours along a wide forest road, climbing over 750 meters in altitude. The hut is situated at an altitude of 1,410 meters in the heart of the Geigelstein nature reserve, the second highest peak in the Chiemgau Alps at 1,808 meters. A toboggan ride from the Priener Hütte is a classic activity in our region.
Now you've earned a hearty snack. The cozy Alpine Club hut bears the "Taste the Mountains" seal and uses regional and organic ingredients wherever possible. The relatively easy descent follows the ascent route. Be careful on the way up and watch your step on the way down. The scenery is absolutely stunning!
The ascent to the Priener Hütte is open between 10:00 and 12:00 and between 13:00 and 16:00, as the cable car is otherwise used for supply vehicles, snow groomers, etc. It might be helpful to check the Priener Hütte website for any updates.
